raise your hand if you ever set a piece of furniture on fire trying to do something you saw on tv!
*raises hand*
….anyone else?

i want to thank everyone is Toronto for a great show! a LOT of folks picked up the gronk book (all the pre-orders of which have now shipped! international orders are slow getting there… but everything is on it’s way!)
if you’re new to gronk this week because you learned about it at fanexpo, welcome! thank you for reading 🙂

instead of a piece of fanart, i dug out some OLD gronk art i did! 2004?! yikes. good thing i’ve learned how to draw since then.

Gronk does science to it!
Could be worse, though…she could have been reading Girl Genius.
Love the Poutine shirt! It totally seems like something Gronk would eat too
Furniture no. Lawn yes. Who knew grass was flammable?
lol.. adorable as always. 🙂
Cute comic but now I’m disappointed cause Mr. Wizard isn’t on netflix.
@Dougzt, Maybe it is only in Canada?
And I’ve never set fire to something trying to imitate tv per se… but back in the day I did take a blow torch to a Star Trek action figure or two to simulate the effects of a warp core breach…
What is Mr. Wizard?
Also, I don’t think I’ve EVER set anything on fire. Though I did mangle a number of my grandmother’s palm trees to build a fort in the front yard. Who’dda thunk that my grandmother would be REALLY pissed off about me digging holes in the ground to stick the palm stalks in, and completely de-leafing the 5 foot tall palm tree?
For a second there I thought it was Gronk/Labyrinth crossover art, with Gronk as Sir Didymus and Harli as Ambrosius. 😀
I had Poutine for the first time at Fan Expo, whats the big deal, it was ok, nothing great nothing bad. I have never done the fire thing but my little sister set the rug on fire and then tried to hide it with a hat,One problem, it was in the middle of the living room floor and my mother not being a moron noticed it the second she came down stairs, needless to say my sister was in a wee bit of trouble
SCIENCE!
Also, Mr. Wizard is an old-school science TV show. Mr. Wizard (rest his soul) was a cool, crazy-but-somehow-levelheaded science guy who showed kids how to do cool science stuff. The one I always remember was when he showed how nylon was made, and it looked like he just had a beaker full of liquid but WAIT WHAT WOAH suddenly he’s pulling thread off the top and winding it around a stick. Partially ‘cuz it BLEW MY MIND.
Also, on a general Gronk-related note, I got my grandmother hooked on Gronk. Gronk truly spans the generations!
I never needed the TV to give me ideas. I got into plenty of trouble just by looking at something and asking myself the question what if I….
When I reached 7th grade chemistry class the teacher asked us to introduce ourselves and give the rest of the class an idea of what we knew of chemistry. When it was my turn I mentioned knowing how to make blackpowder, Nitroglycerine, TNT, and a few other “novelty” items. He promptly got up and locked the chemical locker. I never figured out why he did that 😉
FUN!
I am curious what you set on fire…
I love this comic a lot! I’m so happy to have met you at fanexpo
Ah! So Mr. Wizard is like Bill Nye?
