show of hands from people that have been chased by a horde of geese? *raises hand*
***
so the Super Bowl was last weekend… i’m not much of a football fan, but lots of people have mentioned there’s a football player with the nickname “gronk”!
with that in mind, eddie nieves did this awesome meeting of gronk and gronk!
you can visit his site here: http://eadgeart.blogspot.com/

I have been chased, caught, and then BITTEN by a goose. It sucked.
(
This Week: Gronk learns the meaning of “Bought Wit”.
The Canadian geese near my house have gotten so used to having people around that they don’t bother chasing. They just hiss and eat your sandwiches when you’re not looking.
I love that the ‘breadcrumbs’ have little smiley faces.
You know, long before I lived in an area where Geese wintered, I learned that the Romans used them as watchdogs, and that they could kill a man with a solid blow of their wings.
I am VERY polite when I’m passing by a flock, so no, I’ve never been chased.
love dale’s hat
*raises hand* And they are fast too. I was on a bike in a deep cut along a canal trail and a whole horde of them came at me, honking and hissing (hissing I say, I didn’t know geese could hiss). It must have been about a half a mile before I outran them.
I live in an area where there’s a HUGE geese population year round. They block traffic all of the time. I’ve been soooo tempted to plow through the line just to teach them all a lesson.
Some of those critters would hang out at a Golf Course I used to go to. My ball landed near some of them a couple hissed at me but I had my 9 Iron ready! I guess you could say I almosr got a Birdy! LITERALLY!
On a similar note, I discovered your comic by looking for a particular image of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Jordan Staal, who also was given the nickname “The Gronk” for a while.
Killer Patriots comic. Love it! Yes, those Geese are so mean. They appear every now and again in the Gulls universe, like here: http://gullscomic.com/2011/02/10/go-around/
I totally touched a baby CG when I was little and got chased and bit by its WHOLE FAMILY.,
“Holy Halifax!” Brilliant. I vow to use the expression everyday from now on.
Geese, no, but my husband keeps telling us about this time he was chased by a swan that wanted the whole loaf of bread he was trying to feed to the ducks, geese, etc. Needless to say, the swan was better at “swan fu” than the human, so it had a nice loaf of bread when the fight was over.
I once decided to feed some geese at the pond in Lincoln Park, they started one by one edging in toward the shore of the lagoon and started flying in and I had to push my wife and step-son to the side and say RUN! and the geese chased me,and th-OH MY GOD!! THE HORROR!!! *Rocking Back and Forth* also a jumping spider pulled a knife on me ;P
